SSV performs the characterization of any foreign bodies found inside glass containers, such as glass fragments, suspensions, flakes, aggregated organic bodies, etc.
The characterization includes specific analytical protocols, which use the most appropriate techniques of sample preparation and investigation, such as optical microscopy, electron microscope with different degrees of resolution (SEM, FE-SEM), IR and micro-IR spectrophotometer, micro-X-ray-fluorescence.
The characterization of the foreign body and the knowledge of the production process allows to define the possible origin of the foreign material.
