Nowadays the usage of glass in architecture requires sophisticated thermal and solar insulation performances, in compliance with the energy efficiency regulations in force. These characteristics are often achieved by deposition on glass of thin films and coatings, which must therefore ensure appropriate characteristics of durability.

To test coated glass’ resistance to harsh environments SSV is equipped with salt spray /saline mist chambers, capable of carrying out accelerated ageing tests in compliance with the provisions of the EN 1096 (glass with coating) and EN 1036 (mirrors) standards.
