SSV is capable of providing a complete and integrated service for the formulation and optimization of the vitrifiable mixture and of the chemical composition of glass.
Once the objectives and target properties have been defined, thanks to decades of experience, a vast database of experimental measures associating chemical compositions to the most significant properties of glasses, and with the support of a proprietary thermodynamic simulation software, it is possible to define which composition is the most appropriate to best meet all the conditions sought.
The optimization of the glass composition and of the batch formulation is carried out according to an integrated iterative process, which associates thermodynamic simulations with experimental melting trials, aimed at producing samples on which to verify the properties of interest of the candidate glass compositions, and also includes dedicated tests to evaluate the kinetics of the melting reactions.
