Glass Defects Analyses

SSV puts its experience and its most advanced techniques of compositional, morphological and structural micro-analysis at the service of the entire glass chain, with special focus on the study of glass defects and on the identification of their possible causes. Its activities of characterization and consultancy in the micro-analysis field are quite varied: determination of the nature of heavy and high-melting contaminants within the raw materials; identification of the nature of cords, devitrifications, infused inclusions, bubbles and other defects in glass products; study of coatings applied to glass; characterization of processes of alteration of the glass surface; determination of penetration profiles in chemically strengthened glass; studies on the crystal microstructure of ceramic and refractory materials, etc.
