Stazione Sperimentale del Vetro has been involved in the study of industrial and artisanal glassmaking technologies since its establishment; thanks to its activities in research projects and technological assistance to manufacturing companies, over time SSV has developed a strong expertise in all aspects related to the transformation of the vitrifiable mixture into glass, and in particular the links between batch formulation, glass chemical composition, product quality and other key properties of the manufactured articles for different types of production process.

Its proximity to the world of artistic glass in Murano has also allowed SSV to acquire great expertise in the development of coloured glasses, characterised by an almost infinite compositional and chromatic spectrum.
